About the Studio

Films made with bare hands and a single porch light.

Rosebud Film Co. is the independent studio of writer/director Seth Byers. It exists on a simple wager: that tension is built, not bought. No volume of digital gloss can replace a real location, a practical light source, and a camera close enough to hear the actors breathe.

Every Rosebud picture is shot on vintage glass and lit with what the location gives us — a kitchen bulb, a streetlamp, the cold spill of a television. The swirl and fall-off of old lenses isn’t a filter; it’s a point of view. The frame goes soft exactly where certainty does.

Distribution is direct. When you rent a Rosebud film, you fund the next one — no gatekeepers, no notes, no compromise. Independent digital filmmaking, in the most literal sense of every word.

“Horror doesn’t live in the dark. It lives in the last warm light before it.”
