Rosebud Film Co. is the independent studio of writer/director Seth Byers, built on a simple wager — that tension is built, not bought. Every project starts from the same place: a real story, practical lighting, raw emotion, and a narrative that pulls you somewhere specific. “The Backyard,” the studio’s debut short, is the first proof of that idea. Shot with two practical light sources, a crackling fire-pit and a clinical white LED lantern, the film follows a mind losing its grip on itself — the strange dissociation of getting lost inside your own head, and the unsettling moment you look up and see yourself standing right in front of you.
